Active cases rise again to over 55,000

THE Department of Health (DOH) on Friday, June 25, 2021, reported more than 6,800 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), raising the active cases again.

In its case bulletin, the DOH listed 55,243 active cases.

The DOH reported 6,812 new cases, 116 additional mortalities and 2,867 new recoveries.

The new cases brought the total case count to 1,385,053, of which 24,152 were mortalities and 1,305,608 were recoveries.

The case fatality rate remained at 1.74 percent.

All laboratories were able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System last June 23. A total of 51,005 samples were tested, of which 11.6 yielded positive results.

Of the active cases as of June 23, 90.8 percent were mild cases, 4.6 percent were asymptomatic, 1.9 percent were severe cases, 1.3 percent were critical cases and 1.3 percent were moderate cases. (HDT / SunStar Philippines)
