Gordon reminds public to continue practicing minimum health standards

PHILIPPINE Red Cross (PRC) Chair and Senator Richard Gordon emphasized the importance of practicing minimum public health standards despite the presence of vaccines in the country.

“Our battle with the ongoing pandemic is still long and people need to take care of themselves as well as their family and to do that we need to practice proper wearing of masks, regular hand washing, and physical distancing,” Gordon said during the first anniversary of the PRC Subic Molecular Laboratory.

He also stressed the importance of swab testing among individuals who were exposed to COVID-19 positive patients and those who are experiencing symptoms to prevent further transmission of the virus so as not to overwhelm hospitals and medical frontliners.

PRC Subic Molecular Laboratory conducted a total of 86,507 Covid-19 tests during its first year of operation.

Constructed in partnership with Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, the lab is capable of conduct 2,000 test per day.

Nationwide, PRC has conducted about 3,307,946 tests in its 13 Molecular Laboratories. (PR)
