ABS-CBN has launched a new series, La Vida Lena, which was embraced by the Filipinos well during its pilot episode on Monday, June 28.

The new show follows the story of Magda’s (played by Erich Gonzales ) transformation from an innocent girl into a vengeful Lena. La Vida Lena centers on the theme “karma,” even tagging the lead character as the new face of karma.

We had a chance to ask Erich and the rest of the cast about their takes on karma and how this concept affected their way of living in real life.

Erich: I believe what goes around comes back around. Kumbaga kung ano ang itinanim mo yun ang aanihin mo, might as well magtanim ka na lang ng mabubuti sa puso mo.

Stop stressing about the things that you have no control of, instead focus na lang sa mga bagay na kaya mo naman gawan ng paraan. It is also about prioritizing kung ano yung mas makakatulong para sayo kasi pag feeling mo okay ka, then you’ll be able to help other people also.

Kit Thompson (Miguel): You reap what you sow. Karma here (in the series) is not really a person, but a situation na babalik sayo kung ano man ginawa mo -- good or bad karma. So just plant a seed na hindi ka siguro babalikan na masama o mapapasama ka.

Carlo Aquino (Jordan): Iligay mo sa isip at puso mo na umiikot ang buhay, hindi ka palaging nakakaangat. Bilog ang mundo. (Put it in your mind and heart that life is a cycle, there are ups and downs.)
