AFTER the Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 offered theoretical driving course (TDC) scholarships in Bohol starting May 31, 2021, a total of 748 enrollees from the towns of Panglao, Dauis, and Ubay completed the course in less than a month.
According to LTO 7 Director Victor Emmanuel Caindec, the TDC scholarships amounted to approximately P3 million.
This is part of LTO 7’s Malasakit Outreach initiated by its e-Patrol Mobile Services in partnership with the local government units (LGUs) in Bohol.
A total of 339 graduates in Panglao received the free TDC, 113 in Dauis, and 296 in Ubay. They were all endorsed by the LGUs.
From May 31 to June 28, 2021, LTO 7 also served 2,130 clients in the same three towns in Bohol—773 in Panglao, 667 in Dauis, and 690 in Ubay.
"Our e-Patrol Mobile Services, which is now on its second year, targets those underserved or those who don't have access to an LTO office near their area, like Bohol. We hope to roam around Bohol before the year ends," said Caindec.
LTO 7's e-Patrol Mobile Services, which was launched in February 2019, offers mobile TDC, vehicle registration and renewal, license renewal, student-driver permit issuance, and printing of driver’s license cards with five-year validity.
LTO 7 said it will also visit the provinces of Negros Oriental and Siquijor. (PR)
