3 CHMSC studs win the Blastik recycling challenge

THREE students from Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC)–Binalbagan Campus bag awards at the Blastik Plastic Bottle Recycling Challenge organized by Peacepond Farmers Association in celebration of Philippine Environment Month on June 21.

Ella Veraguas, the grand winner and Janine Marie Ramirez, and Kiert Jan Parcero, the runners-up, were recognized during the awarding ceremony held at the Binalbagan campus on Tuesday, June 29, organized by Peacepond Farmers Association in partnership with Blastik Binalbagan and Alternative Indigenous Development Foundation Inc. – Bacolod (AIDFI).

The grand winner received P15,000 worth of Blastik Wall Tiles. The runners-up received 5 pcs. Blastik Wall Tiles, Blastik bowl made of recycled bottles and bottle caps, Blastik facemask, wallet, and clutch made of recycled soft drink labels, and Blastik Eco bags each, which can be used on their future projects or for the expansion of their projects.

The Executive Director of Binalbagan Campus Joevelle Vergara, College of Fisheries Dean Imee Perante, PhD, SSG Adviser Eduard Advincula, Greening CHMSC Coordinator Alberto de la Cruz, PhD, PME Coordinator Maria Luna Mabasa, PhD, and External Affairs Coordinator - Binalbagan Campus Sheila Ticar, attended the awarding ceremony to show their support. They are very proud of the winners for not only winning in the challenge but also for showing care and concern for the environment.

The Blastik Plastic Bottle Recycling Challenge was open only to those who attended the Blastik Project online and face-to-face workshops. (PR)
