NORTHERN Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) has downgraded its alert status from code red to code yellow on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

The region's Covid-19 referral hospital is now operating at 30-percent capacity dedicated to treating Covid-positive patients who are admitted to the NMMC.

This was confirmed by Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno on Wednesday, June 30, during the daily press briefer at the city hall.

"Nalipay ta kay ang NMMC nag-declare kagahapon nga ang ilang alert level is down to code yellow," Moreno said.

"Ang advantage ana is they can now somehow not just relax a bit but also dedicate themselves kanang mga elective cases kay lisod man kaayo nga ang elective cases ma-pending indefinitely kay kinahanglan gyapon ang operasyon ana nga mga pasyente," he added.

The city mayor further said that NMMC at code yellow is "a good sign," assuring that the NMMC will adjust if there are severe and critical cases going to be admitted to the hospital in the future.

"Mao na nga importante sa ato mga igsoon nga ato gyu'ng paningkamotan nga ma-reduce [ang mga positibo nga kaso] dili lang dinhi sa dakbayan sa Cagayan de Oro kun dili sa tibook Region 10," Moreno said.
