Bacolod under GCQ from July 1-31

BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, issued Executive Order No. 35, an order placing the City of Bacolod under general community quarantine (GCQ) pursuant to the decision of the National Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (NIATF-MEID) from July 1 to July 31, 2021.

BASED on the EO, any person below 18 years old, those who are over 65 years old; those with immunodeficiency, comorbidity, or other health risks regardless of age; pregnant women; and any person who resides with all the aforementioned are still required to remain in their residences at all times, except when necessary, such as obtaining essential goods and services or for work in permitted industries and offices.

Businesses not allowed to operate under GCQ are (1) Entertainment venues with live performers such as karaoke bars, bars, clubs, concert halls, theaters, and cinemas; (2) Recreational venues such as internet cafes, billiard halls, amusement arcades, bowling alleys, and similar venues; (3) Amusement parks or theme parks, fairs/peryas, kid amusement industries such as playgrounds, playroom, and kiddie rides; (4) Casinos, horse racing, lottery and betting shops, and other gaming establishments, except as may be authorized by the IATF or the Office of the President for the purpose of raising revenue for the government; (5) Traditional cockfighting and operation of cockpits, and (6) Outdoor/indoor sports courts or venues for contact sports, scrimmages, games, or activities.

Section 7 of the said EO also states that businesses in the essential goods and services sectors as well as those engaged in providing prime commodities such as supermarkets, public and private wet markets, grocery stores, agri-fishery supply stores, veterinary supply stores, pharmacies, drug stores and other retail establishments under similar business engagements are strongly encouraged to extend their daily store operations to a maximum of twelve hours convenient to both the customers and the proprietors. Provided, however, that the policies on minimum health protocols, curfew, partial liquor ban and other measures for public health and safety embodied in this Executive Order shall remain imposable at all times.

The daily curfew hours will also continue to be observed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The selling of liquor, wine, beer, or any alcoholic or intoxicating beverage will only be allowed from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. However, the selling and/or consumption of such alcoholic beverages in authorized public places shall continue to be totally banned and prohibited. (SSB)
