Zumba session kicks-off NDRM 2021 in Central Visayas

THE Office of Civil Defense (OCD)-Central Visayas held a virtual Zumba Session Thursday, July 1, to officially launch the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) in the region.

The activity was aimed to bridge the relevance of mental and physical fitness and health especially at this time of Covid-19 pandemic. Members of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) and local DRRM councils regionwide joined the activity.

Aside from the zumba session, other major activities are lined up for the month-long observance of the NDRM in the region, including the conduct of First Regional Resilience Snapshot (Photo Contest), NDRM Webinar Series, Resilience Summit, Mangrove Planting, Coastal Clean-up, Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP) Training, EOC Training, other related LGU’s DRR capability enhancement assistance and NDRM Culmination Ceremony.

OCD called on all stakeholders to support the programs of the government that are geared toward disaster resilience.

NDRM is observed every July of each year pursuant to Executive Order 29, series of 2017 that aims to promote activities that build disaster resilience.

This year's theme is "Tamang Pamamahala't Kahandaan, Kaalaman at Pagtutulungan sa Sakuna at Pandemya'y Kalasag ng Bayan." (PR)
