SINCE the soft launch of its fiber broadband service in Cebu and Mandaue in November 2020, Converge has quietly but assuredly recreated the reputation it has solidly built in Luzon: providing fast and reliable broadband service to homes and businesses.

From the moderate requirements of an online ad agency employee, to thebandwidth-heavy demands of a co-working space and an IT solutions provider, Converge delivered the high-speed broadband solution to respond to the differing needs of its customers.

Converge’s first-takers in the Visayas market can attest to the robust and quality connection, across the board, no matter the size of the connectivity need.

“As a cafe, we offer co-working spaces, working cubicles and meeting rooms. As part of that, we need a stable and good internet for our customers working from home or freelancers,” said Elvin John Manahan, Converge’s first SME customer in Visayas, who manages Lazy Joy Cafe, his family’s business.

For Anthony Mahusay, a family man working night shift for an online advertising agency, the broadband service has been unflagging no matter the time of the day.

“In my work, I have constant video conferences with clients in America. With Converge, I never had problems in my video conferences, the connection is stable and fast. I benefit from the connection in the evening when I work, while my family enjoys it more during the day when they’re at home,” said Anthony.

Meanwhile, Ardent Networks Inc., a six-year-old IT distribution company with offices in Manila and Cebu, made the switch to Converge, considering the heavy workload and data-intensive processes they undertake.

“We know, especially during the pandemic, most workers are working from home so accessing our data and tools from our data center, the connectivity is really vital. Converge is helping us in a big way there, especially in our new location in Mandaue,” said Jojo Ciano, branch manager at Ardent Networks Inc. in Cebu.

“Our head office is in Manila, in Ortigas. All of our sales tools are being accessed from our data center there. We decided to subscribe with the new ISP in Cebu, Converge, in order to get good connectivity. In the past month of using this, we’ve been very happy and contented,” he added.

As Converge gradually rolls out its presence in Visayas and strengthens its sales points, it will also be laying down its distribution network throughout the island to reach 17 cities. After the inauguration of its Mandaue business center, it will open a flagship business center in Cebu, and will begin serving Talisay, Cordova and Lapu-Lapu City.

With this in central Philippines, Converge is expected to offer its full suite of products and services to Visayas: for night-shift workers like Anthony, Converge can offer the innovative broadband FiberX “Time of Day” (TOD) plans. This broadband product matches internet speeds with consumers’ usage hours. Simply put, TOD matches the internet speeds with consumers' usage hours where they can maximize and boost their speeds.

Converge offers the FiberX and FiberXtreme plans for residential customers with the entry-level FiberX 1500 with 35mbps speeds being its flagship product. For enterprise clients, Converge also offers high-speed fixed broadband internet services, private data network solutions, cloud and colocation services.

As a sign of commitment to the Visayas market, the company ventured into a multi-billion project to serve the Visayas and Mindanao as part of its goal to provide world-class fiber broadband services to 55 percent of Filipino households by 2025. The Visayas and Mindanao regions represent 40 percent of the fixed broadband market.

Converge has invested P6 billion for its domestic submarine cable network that connected the Visayas and Mindanao to its national fiber backbone and distribution network which already reached over 69,400 kilometers as of end-April.
