THE government is constructing a road that will traverse three villages to spur development in the remote areas of Lanao del Sur, the military said.
The 103rd Infantry Brigade said the 51st Infantry Battalion along with the 55th Engineer Brigade, provincial and municipal engineers’ office conducted Thursday, July 1, a survey for the road development project in Piagapo, Lanao del Sur.
The brigade said the project to be implemented is the road construction of 6.35 kilometers and will traverse Udalo, Kalilangan and Lininding villages, Piagapo town.
The Army officers and engineers were deployed and jointly conducted the road survey and assessment in the area.
“Terrorism starts where road development ends. It attacks societies with narrow road to resources,” the 103rd Infantry Brigade said.
“Such collaborative milestone between the Philippine Army and Lanao del Sur provincial government for multiple road developments is believed to be the road to end terrorism,” it added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
