Oro mayor says A4 vaccination rollout will take time to start

CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno on Friday, July 2, said it will still take a long time before the city can start the vaccination rollout for the Priority Group A4.

The Priority Group A4 includes frontline personnel in essential sectors, including uniformed personnel.

"Taas pa ang kulang. Diha sa percenage [angayan maabot sa A2 og A3], layo pa ta," Moreno said.

The city mayor said while the city is almost done giving Covid-19 vaccines to frontline healthcare workers under the Priority Group A1, there are still the immediate family members of the frontliners who need to be vaccinated.

It can be recalled that the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has included the immediate family members of healthcare workers under the Priority Group A1.

"Ang frontliners, I think we're almost done. Ang wala nabakuna katong dili gusto magpabakuna or naay mga problema. Naa pa tay problema sa A1, katong mga immediate members of the family," Moreno said.

"Gi-allow naman kana sa national level ambot lagi nganong dinhi sa ato dili pa ta nagsugod ana. Dili ta makalihok kung walay clearance sa DOH regional office and I hope ato nang ma-address," he added.

As of July 1, 2021, the total number of vaccinated individuals in Cagayan de Oro City was at 64,714.

Of the said figure, 17,689 were frontline healthcare workers (A1 group), 27,937 were senior citizens (A2 group), and 19,088 were persons with comorbidities (A3 group).
