PNP chief urges youth to focus energy on honing skills

PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar urged Central Luzon youth to focus their energy on honing their skills.

In his message during the 1st Semester Student Congress 2021 spearheaded by Commission on Higher Education (Ched) Regional Office-Central Luzon, he said the youth is prone to all kinds of twisted ideologies by people who have already mastered the art of deception for their personal agenda.

"In fact, your kind are actually their favorite target of recruitment, but as the future of this country, focus your youthful energy in honing your leadership skills and learning as many ideas based on what you learn from school and based on what you observe in our society," he said.

Eleazar said these skills will come in handy for them in the future when they are given the chance to lead.

He also shared one of PNP's instituted reforms to support the dreams of the youth.

"We made sure that the 17,000 new police recruits this year are not products of a corrupt system through our comprehensive online recruitment encrypting system which makes use of QR code," he said.

With the QR code system, no names or faces of applicants are shown to prevent fraudulent acts in the recruitment process.

The 1st Semester Student Congress 2021 was co-organized by Kabataan Kontra Droga (KKDAT) at TerorismoCentral Luzon, PNP, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, and Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services-Central Luzon.

It carried the theme “Kabataan sa Bagong Normal (KaBaNo): Kaagapay ng Pamantasan at Pamahalaan tungo sa Maunlad na Pamayanan ng Rehiyon III.”

The activity aimed to present the different programs and projects of Ched on Student Affairs and Services, instill in the hearts and minds of the youth the virtue of patriotism and nationalism, and establish institutional and regional KKDAT chapters to support the advocacy of the government that no student should be left behind.
