Cagayan de Oro to lose more than P100M a day from June 1 to July 31

THE National Economic and Development Authority (Neda)-Northern Mindanao has estimated Cagayan de Oro's daily output loss to be more than a hundred million during the period that the city is under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).

According to Neda Regional Director Mylah Faye Aurora Cariño, they have estimates for two scenarios. Scenario one involves Cagayan de Oro under MECQ on June 1 to July 15 and under general community quarantine (GCQ) from July 16 to 31. The second scenario, on the other hand, has the city under MECQ from June 1 to July 31.

Cariño said that under scenario one, Neda estimated Cagayan de Oro's output loss between P4.57 billion to P4.67 billion. The city's daily losses will be between P100.67 million to 103.89 million.

In scenario two, Cariño said that the city will lose P6.31 billion to P6.45 billion, with the average daily losses of between P140 million to P143 million.

Meanwhile, only 9,871 establishments or 26 percent of the total establishments in Northern Mindanao has remained operational at present.

Neda has recorded 37,340 establishments in the entire region.
