2 drug dealers arrested

AUTHORITIES have arrested two alleged big-time drug dealers and seized P815,997 worth of illegal drugs in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City and Zamboanga Sibugay province, the police reported Tuesday, July 6.

Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspects as Hasbi Jamhali, 44, and Arnold Ferrer, 62.

Ylagan said Jamhali was nabbed in possession of some 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000 in an anti-drug operation around 10:50 a.m. Monday, July 5, in Purok 1 in Sangali village, east of Zamboanga City.

Also recovered from Jamjali were a bundle of boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill used as marked money and a mobile phone.

Jamjali reportedly deals illegal drugs in Zamboanga City, as well as in the nearby provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay and Basilan.

Ylagan said that Ferrer was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 1:30 p.m. Monday in Purok Orchids in Poblacion, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Ferrer yielded 18.3 grams of shabu worth P135,997, a mobile phone, and P500 marked money.

Ylagan said the two suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
