Government worker, another nabbed in anti-drug stings

TWO persons, including a government employee, were arrested in anti-drug operations in the province of Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga City, the police reported Wednesday, July 7, 2021.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Rito Tan, 32; and Wilson Abduhari, 25.

Chang said Tan, a utility worker of the Department of Public Works and Highways, was arrested in an anti-drug operation around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Nipaan village, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.

Chang said recovered from Tan were some one gram of suspected shabu worth P6,800 and P500 marked money.

She said Abduhari was arrested in another anti-drug operation around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in Recodo village, Zamboanga City.

Chang said seized from Abduhari were some P89,080 worth of suspected shabu and P100 marked money.

She said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
