Tourism business owners join DTI biz mentorship

FORTY-EIGHT tourism entrepreneurs will undergo the latest Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) – Money Market Encounter (MME) mentorship program to “pandemic-proof” their businesses.

According to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 7, the program is aimed at pivoting the tourism sector that has been the hardest hit industry in the course of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The goal of this KMME is to teach micro small and medium entrepreneurs to make your business viable, sustainable and competitive so that as entrepreneurs, they will become resilient and can survive challenges (like the pandemic) which triggered a lot of changes in the business environment,” DTI 7 Director Ma. Elena Arbon said in a statement.

Participants of the online program called “mentees” are owners, co-owners and managers from the tourism industries engaged in transport services, travel and tours, restaurant and hotels/accommodation services.

The DTI 7 said the program aims to provide a platform for existing entrepreneurs to learn from the entrepreneurial journey of the mentors online.
