New Malaybalay bishop to assume in September

MONSIGNOR Noel Pedregosa will assume his new role as the fifth bishop of the Diocese of Malaybalay in Bukidnon Province on September 14, 2021.

A report by CBCP News, official news service of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), said the 56-year old bishop-elect will be ordained and installed as bishop in a mass at 9 a.m. of September 14 at the San Isidro Labrador Cathedral.

Minimum public health standards, such as physical distancing, will be enforced during the ceremony, which will also be livestreamed on the Facebook page of the Diocese and the Cathedral.

The Vatican announced the appointment of Pedregosa on June 29, 2021.

The episcopal seat of Malaybalay has been vacant since August 2020, when Archbishop Jose Cabantan was appointed as archbishop of Cagayan de Oro.

Pedregosa has been serving as the administrator of the Malaybalay Diocese since then. (HDT / SunStar Philippines)
