BOARDING houses that pose high-risk of transmission of Covid-19 infection are being double-checked for contact tracing of confirmed cases by the Iloilo City Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (Cesu) of City Health Office (CHO).

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas reiterated to residents and workers to strictly practice handwashing with soap frequently, sanitizing with alcohol, wearing of face masks

properly covering the mouth and nose and maintaining one-meter distance.

He plans to order every barangay to assign a Boarding House Committee to regularly check on status of boarders and transients identified with positive patients and close contacts.

Cesu and City Hall’s Boarding House Commission will meet with barangay officials for them to identify the boarding houses and those staying and their workplaces and hometowns for reference on tracing.

Cesu has traced that boarders coming from various workplaces share common facilities, as well as interact with each other that may spread the Covid-19 virus. (PR)
