SOME 349 residents in Magalang, Pampanga benefitted from the government's cash-for-work program.
The beneficiaries received P3,150 each from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) during a ceremonial payout led by Mayor Romy Pecson.
Pecson said the program is a big help to his constituents. "Malaking bagay po ito para sa ating mga kababayan lalo na ngayong pandemiya."
Other local officials present during the event were Councilors Koko Gonzales and Joel Cruz, local DSWD officer Sherley Pallasigui, and town disaster management officer Ernie Aguilar.
Meanwhile, the local government conducted a consultative meeting with officers and members and officers of the Pampanga Swine Producers Association Inc. (PSPA) on Thursday, July 8, 2021.
Hog raisers in the town shared with local officials their sentiments and other issues related to African Swine Fever, which affected the industry.
Also present during the consultation meeting were PSPA head Alex Del Rosario, Pampanga Veterinarian Agusto Baluyut, Municipal Agriculturist Milagros Suing, and other officials.
