DA hosts orientation on implementation of Mandanas Supreme Court ruling

THE Department of Agriculture (DA)-Central Luzon conducted an orientation on the One-DA Approach, Mandanas Supreme Court Ruling, Food Safety, and Province-led Agriculture and Fishery Extension System (Pafes) at the Agriculture and Fishery Councils of Bulacan on July 6 at the Capitol Compound in Malolos City, Bulacan.

The purpose of the meeting was to identify the programs and strategies undertaken by the department under the One-DA approach and to outline the working methods in the implementation of the

Mandanas Ruling will directly deduct the share of funding from the National Government to the local government units to provide additional assistance with their current projects and programs.

Also discussed was Pafes where one of its objectives is to increase the agricultural development plans of the pilot provinces guided by the DA's Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization and Industrialization Plan (AgMIP) and the Provincial Commodity Investment Plans (PCIP).

The meeting was attended by the OIC RTD for Research, Regulatory and Integrated Laboratory Division and standing RAFC Executive Officer Dr. Arthur Dayrit and the OIC-chief of the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division and RAFC Coordinator Noli Sambo.

The AFCs welcomed the new programs now being implemented by the DA to help every farmer and fisherman make it easier for them to receive assistance and accelerate their farming development.

There will also be an orientation in the province of Nueva Ecija which is included in the pilot provinces of PAFES implementation.
