3 die as motorcycle plunges into rocks

THREE persons were killed in a road accident in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Friday, July 9, 2021.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the incident happened around 8 p.m. Thursday, July 8, in Purok San Jose in Manicaan village, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur.

Chang identified the fatalities as the following: Juven Glenn Olivar, 24; Glady Joyel, 25; and Karl Jay Berdos, 21.

She said the three were aboard a motorcycle driven by Olivar traveling in high speed from Baganian to Manicaan village, Tabina.

Chang said the motorcycle plunged into a rocky area after the it overshot on a descending and curved road as Olivar lost control of the steering bar.

She said the victims suffered multiple injuries and was declared dead by the attending physician when rushed to the hospital for treatment. (SunStar Zamboanga)
