Over P26,000 shabu seized in drug bust

AN ESTIMATED P26,440 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City Thursday evening, July 8, 2021.

The operations also led to the arrest of Maritess Udal, 38, of Purok Sto. Domingo, Barangay Handumanan; and Mark Anthony Natavio, 39, of Purok Chariza 2, Barangay 27.

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of BCPO, said Udal was arrested by operatives of Police Station 10 after she sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover on Purok Sto. Domingo around 7:50 p.m.

Police recovered from Udal's possession seven sachets of shabu weighing 0.80 grams with estimated market value of P5, 440 and the P200 marked money.

Natavio was arrested by operatives of Police Station 4 and City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) on Purok Chariza 2, Barangay 27.

Police recovered from Natavio's possession four sachets of shabu weighing three grams with estimated market value P21, 000 and the P500 marked money.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Stations 4 and 10.

They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
