Nabalaka ang mga mananagat sa Barangay Tayud, lungsod sa Consolacion, amihanang Sugbo nga mawad-an sila og panginabuhian kon sugdan na ang pagtrabaho sa 234 hektaryang reclamation project.
Kon mawagtangan sila og panginabuhian, wa sila masayod kon duna bay alternatibo ang 200 ka mga mananagat nga nanginabuhi sa kadagatan.
Busa, ang Barangay Tayud Fisherfolk Organization, nga nagrepresentar sa 75 ka mga panimalay, nanawagan sa kagamhanan sa pagpahunong sa reclamation project sa La Consolacion Seafront Development Corporation kay magguba kini sa ilang panginabuhian.

Ang mga mananagat wa na usab mangisda duol sa kabaybayunan, kon di nagpalawod.
“At present our few remaining fishermen which is already depleting in numbers (their descendants or the new generation are already employed in other industries/fields) are practically fishing in the deep and open seas outside the area or far areas since our foreshore no longer have an abundant marine life. These has been destroyed by the shipyard operations,” nagkanayon si Alegado.

“I also offered them deep sea equipments/vessel if they still want to continue fishing and a communal fishpond in a nearby area as well.” matod sa mayor.

“The LGU will be with this informal settlers and few fishermen every step of the way. The project will be implemented phase by phase. There will be no displacement that will happen since they will be part of the development.”
