Smoki Moto is back

IT IS back.

And as the phrase goes “with a vengeance.”

With Covid-19 closing many of the tourist destinations, Smoki Moto on the 17th floor of Clark Marriott was not spared. While the hotel, being an international and a solid and stable brand, remained strong despite the global scourge, this Food and Beverage outlet has had to keep its doors closed for more than a year.

But starting Tuesday, July 13, this cozy restaurant that offers a panoramic view of the Mount Arayat on its eastern side and the Zambales mountain ranges (yes, even Pinatubo’s still grayish summit) and the Sacobia Valley on the other end, will begin to take diners. Whether hotel guests or walk-ins, Smoki Moto will entertain and serve foodies and casual diners with its gastronomic delights.

And vengeance it is back indeed as it now offers more in its menu.

More than its usual Korean classics like Japchae, Jjigage, Bibimbap, Samgyetang, Galbitang, Bulgogi, Kimchi and the like, it will now suit the western-seeking palette with Australian beef. There’s Tenderloin, Wagyu rib-eye, Porterhouse, and, Wagyu Striploin.

A combination of great Korean/Asian delights and mouth-watering, tummy filling steaks -- all reasonably priced while enjoying the scenic hilly portions of Clark. Who can beat that?

Operating from 5 p.m. up to 10 p.m., Smoki Moto offers nicely set-up areas where a bar is right at the center of the main dining hall.

Two private dining rooms await small groups where they can enjoy their meals right off the Teppanyaki.

For the executive, the bar beckons to unwind from a day’s work or wrap up the video conferences on computer or mobile gadget. For the gang and the family, the adjoining al fresco is an ideal place to share the highs and lows of the day too. (Noel G. Tulabut/Charlene A. Cayabyab)
