MORE than 18,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, which are part of the 650,000 doses that were purchased by the City Government of Bacolod, will arrive on July 16.

Councilor Renecito Novero, chair of the Quarantine Centers Action Team, stressed this Tuesday, July 13, after they were informed that the first batch of the 650,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines will arrive on Friday.

As soon as the vaccines will arrive, Novero said they will be distributed to various barangays as well as in the three vaccination centers in the malls.

"Initially, they will deliver the first batch, which is more than 18,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, and we are hopeful that they can deliver soon another batch of vaccines to complete the 650,000 doses," he said.

He added the Emergency Operation Centers (EOC) and the Covid-19 Vaccination Council (CoVac) will administer the vaccines to the priority groups A1 and A3 as well as in the priority groups A4 and A5.

In March, the City Government already made an initial payment of more than P31 million to AstraZeneca for the procurement of 650,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, Novero said Regional Incident Management Team (RIMT) also inspected the isolation facilities of the city on Monday.

"They inspected our isolation facilities to ensure the safety of the Covid-19 patients as well as the frontliners inside the isolation facility," he said.

The RIMT inspected the isolation facilities in South Hills Academy, Luis Hervias Elementary School, A.L Jayme Elementary School, and the Midway in Barangay Alijis.
