THE Provincial Legal Office (PLO) is currently reviewing the answers by retired Provincial Agriculturist Japhet Masculino to the show cause orders issued against him over the grain dryers bought by his office during his term.

The grain dryers were allegedly "under specs."

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Masculino and two other individuals coming from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) have already answered the show cause orders.

Diaz said if the PLO finds any probable cause, a formal complaint may be filed against Masculino and the other two OPA personnel.

Diaz also assured that due process will be followed in the case.

Aside from the "under specs" of the two grain dryers, Masculino's show cause orders are also related to the P1 million unpaid catering services back in 2018, and the 23 communal irrigation projects of the Department of Agriculture that were being implemented by OPA with a budget of P45 million but had yet to be completed.

Provincial Legal Officer Alberto Nellas Jr. said Masculino could face a setback if he is found guilty, as his retirement and other benefits could be forfeited.

Masculino retired as OPA in June 30.
