98% of available vaccine doses distributed in Eastern Visayas

A TOTAL of 98 percent or 513,979 out of 524,450 doses of the available vaccine doses for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) have been distributed in Eastern Visayas, the regional health department said Saturday, July 17, 2021.

The 513,979 doses were distributed to Biliran (26,002 doses), Eastern Samar (63,606), Leyte (123,233), Northern Samar (76,004), Samar (68,644), Southern Leyte (61,404, Tacloban City (53,524), and Ormoc City (41,562).

The total number of vaccine doses administered has already reached 376,407.

“265,578 or 88.09 percent of the 301,474 allocated first doses have already been administered. While 49.70 percent of the second doses have already been administered, equating to 110,829 administered doses,” the regional health reported.

Meanwhile, health officials reminded the public to coordinate with their respective local government units for vaccine registration, following the government’s prioritization framework.

As of Friday, July 16, the region had 340 sites for inoculation activities as the government intensified its vaccination drive for priority groups A1 to A3. (SunStar Philippines)
