Covid-positive Kagay-anons now at 10,983

THE cumulative number of Covid-19 infections in Cagayan de Oro was now at 10,983 after a returning overseas Filipino worker (ROF) and 77 residents tested positive for the virus.

According to the City Health Office, of the 77 new local cases, 29 were local index cases, 45 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, two were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and one mortality.

Cagayan de Oro recorded 922 active cases, 322 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, and 600 were outpatients.

The city also registered 63 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 9,549.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was now at 512.

Meanwhile, the total number of vaccinated Covid-positive individuals in Cagayan de Oro was now at 1,094, city epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported.

According to Retuya, of the 1,094 vaccinees, 727 were vaccinated with the Sinovac vaccine, 264 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca, 84 with Pfizer, 16 with Sputnik V, and three with Sinopharm.

Of the 727 Covid-positive Sinovac vaccinees, 531 individuals experienced mild symptoms, 146 were asymptomatic, 46 were moderate cases, and four were severe cases.

Among the 264 AstraZeneca vaccinees, 181 individuals had mild symptoms, 61 were asymptomatic, 21 had moderate symptoms, and one was a severe case.
