Over P130,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P136,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug bust operations of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City over the weekend.

The operation also led to the arrest of Krisha Agsam, 41, Dennis Selobo, 43, both residents of Barangay 19; and John Paul Alferez, 27, of Abada Escay, Barangay Vista Alegre.

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of BCPO, said Agsam and Selobo were arrested by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover on Burgos Street, Barangay 19 around 11:15 p.m Saturday.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession five sachets of shabu weighing 16 grams with an estimated market value of P108,800 and the P500 marked money.

Alferez was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 7 at Abada Escay, Barangay Vista Alegre around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police recovered from Alferez’s possession 12 sachets of shabu weighing four grams with an estimated market value of P27,200, the P500 marked money and P270 cash.

Gabana said the three suspects were identified as street-level individuals in Bacolod City. They were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.

The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of Police Stations 4 and 7.

They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
