AN ESTIMATED P87,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug bust operations of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City on Monday, July 19, 2021.
The operation also led to the arrest of Edwin Ledesma, 51, of Barangay 3; Leo Amihan, 40, of Fortune Towne B, Barangay Estefania; and Rommel Mahandog, 47, of Golden River, Barangay Taculing.
Police Major Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said Ledesma was arrested by operatives of Police Station 4 after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover on Purok Cereza North, Barangay 3 around 9 p.m.
Police recovered from Ledesma’s possession five sachets of shabu weighing five grams with an estimated market value of P34,000, the P500 marked money, and coin purse.
Amihan was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 5 on Purok Avocado, Barangay 20 around 6:15 p.m.
Police recovered from Amihan’s possession 11 sachets of shabu with an estimated market value of P33,000, two plastics containing marijuana leaves, the P300 marked money, and a sling bag.
Mahandog was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 5 in a separate operation at Golden River, Barangay Taculing around 4 p.m.
Police recovered from Mahandog’s possession 10 sachets of shabu weighing three grams with an estimated market value of P20,000, the P500 marked money, and cellular phone.
The suspects were identified as street-level individuals in Bacolod City. They were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.
The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of Police Stations 4 and 5. They will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
