Pampanga coastal villages flooded

THE prevailing southwest monsoon affecting the Philippines has left 12 barangays flooded in Masantol town, according to a report of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.

An average of a foot deep of flooding had been recorded in San Isidro Matua, Santa Lucia Matua, Santa Lucia Wakas, Sta. Lucia Paguiba, Sta. Lucia Anac, Sto. Nino, Bebe Anak, San Agustin, Bagang, Sagrada, Nugui and Sapang Kawayan.

The southwest monsoon had been affecting most of Luzon due to the effects of Typhoon Fabian.

The typhoon was estimated based on all available data at 740 kilometers east northeast of extreme northern Luzon on Wednesday with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gusts of up to 160 km/h.

The PDRRMC Emergency Operations Center and Command and Control Center (C3) at PEO Compound, Sindalan, City of San Fernando had activated and prepositioned its Disaster Response Equipment and Manpower on stand-by 24/7 along with other member agencies/offices for quick emergency response in case of further rainfall and flooding.
