Capiz-Halaran PCCI to host this year's VABC online

THE Capiz-Halaran Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting this year's Visayas Area Business Conference (VABC).

Ronald So, regional governor of the PCCI-Western Visayas, said the VABC is considered historic as it will be held online for the first time on July 29-30.

The theme for this year is “Rising Above Pandemic through Smart Innovations” and the event will be participated by various chamber organizations in the Visayas.

"Among the highlights of this year's event were the concerns of infrastructure under the Build, Build, Build program of the Duterte administration on the first day. Second day highlights the power reliability program of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines; agriculture for food security and the road map to tourism," said So, who hails from the Halaran Chamber.

To be featured under the Build, Build, Build program are the ports improvement connecting Luzon and Visayas grid, the multi-million project of the National Irrigation Administration of the Panay River Basin Integrated Development Project, the IT Development in the countryside and the advanced basic education in the country.

Last year's VABC was supposed to be hosted by the Boracay Chamber of Commerce and Industry but it was cancelled because of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic. (SunStar Philippines)
