Disaster response centers activated

THE Pampanga Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMC) has activated its Emergency Operations Center and Command and Control Center following the continuous rains caused by Typhoon Fabian and the southwest monsoon.

In its situational report Friday noon, July 23, the PDRRMC noted that its Disaster Response Equipment and Manpower are put on standby 24/7 in preparation for possible rescue and relief operations.

As of Friday noon, a total of 34 barangays from Masantol, Macabebe and Lubao towns were already experiencing up to three feet of floodwaters.

Three families or 17 individuals from Barangays Castuli and Sta. Cruz in Macabebe have also been evacuated.

Some 5,383 families -- 5,080 from Masantol and 303 from Lubao -- were also reported to have been affected by continuous rainfall.

The PDRRMC said continuous coordination with city and municipal DRRMCs is being conducted to monitor the overall situation in their areas.

It also advised residents to practice safety precaution and immediately coordinate with their local government for possible preemptive evacuation in case water in their area rises.
