Coronavirus-positive Kagay-anons now at 11,527

THE cumulative number of coronavirus infections in Cagayan de Oro as of Friday, July 23, was already at 11,527 after 132 of its residents tested positive for the virus.

According to the City Health Office, of the 132 new confirmed cases, 55 were local index cases, 58 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 10 were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), six were Apors with link, and three were mortalities.

Cagayan de Oro recorded 1,147 active cases, 364 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 782 were outpatients, one ROF/LSI.

The city also registered 57 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 9,857.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was now at 523.

Meanwhile, the total number of vaccinated coronavirus-positive individuals in Cagayan de Oro hit 1,243, city epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported.

According to Retuya, of the 1,243 vaccinees, 820 were vaccinated with the Sinovac vaccine, 294 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca, 96 with Pfizer, 30 with Sputnik V, and three with Sinopharm.

Of the 820 coronavirus-positive Sinovac vaccinees, 605 individuals experienced mild symptoms, 157 were asymptomatic, 54 were moderate cases, and four were severe cases.

Among the 294 AstraZeneca vaccinees, 199 individuals had mild symptoms, 70 were asymptomatic, 24 had moderate symptoms, and one was a severe case.
