THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Guimaras distributed Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Baranggay (LSP-NSB) kits to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the Province of Guimaras on July 23, 2021, at the Caza Guest House, Barangay San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.

Thirty-three MSME beneficiaries from the five municipalities in Guimaras received livelihood kits from the project.

Eight of the beneficiaries came from the Municipality of Sibunag, seven from Jordan town, while Buenavista, San Lorenzo and Nueva Valencia have six recipient MSMEs, respectively.

Recipients may choose from different livelihood kits that include food processing, groceries, eatery/services and pottery worth P6,000 each.

According to the DTI, the Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Baranggay aims to help MSMEs in the rehabilitation of their businesses that were greatly affected by the pandemic.

Governor Samuel T. Gumarin encouraged beneficiaries to take advatange of the assistance given by the government to restart their businesses.

“Businesses close, open, close bangud sa enhanced lockdown, GCQ (general community quarantine), kag ginahambal ko, we are going to live with Covid-19 whether we like it or not. Indi kita pwede mag-close, magbukas. Dapat sigehon naton ang aton livelihood para sa tagsa-tagsa naton nga pamilya. So, sa 33 naton diri nga beneficiaries, kabay nga pabaskugon ninyo paagi sa ihatag nga bulig sang DTI para nga kasugod kamo liwat,” he said.

Gumarin emphasized that one of the reasons why DTI exists is because of the beneficiaries themselves.

“DTI-Guimaras is here to serve sa aton nga mga negosyante kag magabulig sa tagsa-tagsa sa aton. Kag kung kabatyag kamo sang kabudlayan, please contact ang aton nga mga DTI personnel para matagaan pa gid kamo sang dugang nga hibalo kung paano ini sige-sigehon,” Gumarin added.

DTI-Guimaras also conducted Business Continuity Planning and Digital Marketing for the beneficiaries that provided them additional ideas on reviving and restarting their businesses.

Present during the program was Romil F. Maro, program focal person of DTI-Guimaras.

The ceremony was conducted in compliance with the necessary health and safety protocols to avoid the further spread of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases. (SunStar Philippines)
