Malacad: Duterte still a failure

“FOR his sixth and final State of the National Address (Sona), President Rodrigo Duterte is still a failure.”

This was stressed by Diego Malacad, secretary-general of United Negros Drivers and Operator Center (Undoc), after Duterte delivered his sixth and final Sona at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City Monday, July 26.

Hundreds of militant groups marched down the main streets of Bacolod while holding placards stating their demands for the Duterte administration. They conducted a short program at the Fountain of Justice in Bacolod City.

Malacad said they observed social distancing and reminded their groups to wear their face masks and face shields since Bacolod City is still under general community quarantine with heightened restrictions.

He said they built a cage showing that Duterte was being executed.

“The President never mentioned his program for the transport industry, especially here in Bacolod City. He has projects, but it did not prosper while his plan was not implemented,” he added.

Malacad also stressed that the Duterte administration failed to address the Covid-19 crisis.

“He is still a failure for us. He is full of promises, but there is no implementation. We are also a victim of harassment,” Malacad said.

He said the Duterte administration failed to address the poverty, to end the contractualization, to solve the illegal drug problems within 12 months, to provide more jobs, to lower prices of commodities and to give attention to the problems of the transport sector, especially here in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

He added that millions of people in the country are still unemployed while others have no assurance from their works.
