CITY of Love’s comfort food will be offered free for life to weightlifting champion Hidilyn Diaz for bagging the Philippines' first gold medal after winning in Women 55kg in Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Mayor Jerry Treñas stressed Diaz deserves every special recognition for uplifting the Filipino spirit amid the struggles of pandemic.
"As our share to honor our first Olympic gold medalist, Hidilyn Diaz will have free accommodation for two in a hotel in Iloilo City when we start having face to face celebration of the Dinagyang Festival. While she is here, she will also have lifetime free La Paz Batchoy and Pancit Molo. We give honor to a Filipina who has given us inspiration and pride during these most difficult times," Treñas said.
Both famous steaming hot noodle soup dishes originated and named after two of Iloilo City’s districts. (PR)
