Law enforcement operations net 2 in Zamboanga Peninsula

GOVERNMENT operatives have arrested two persons, including the number six priority target in the campaign against illegal drugs, and seized some P114,240 worth of suspected shabu in separate law enforcement operations in Zamboanga Peninsula, the police reported Wednesday, July 28.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested priority target as Majid Ahiya Udjah, 46, a resident of Tenan village, Ipil, the capital of Zamboanga Sibugay province.

Chang said Udjah was arrested in a warrant of arrest operation around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, in Bacalan village, Ipil.

Chang said Udjah has a standing warrant of arrest for violation of Section 5, Article 2 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 with no recommended bail date August 8, 2019 issued by the court of Ipil.

Police Major Albin Cabayacruz, Zamboanga City Police Office’s Station 7 chief, said Arnulfo Lambo, 42, was arrested in a search warrant operation around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at a subdivision in Lunzuran village, Zamboanga City.

Cabayacruz said confiscated during the search warrant operation were some 16.8 grams of suspected shabu worth P114,240, three live ammunition of caliber .45 pistol, 128 empty shells of similar caliber, and illegal drug paraphernalia.

He said Lambo was detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against him. (SunStar Zamboanga)
