BACOLOD City-based Aldrtz Corp. is rewarding Hidilyn Diaz, the first Filipino Olympic gold medalist, with a one-year supply of its liniment product.

Aldrtz Corporation, in a statement, said it is its way of acknowledging the physical pain that Filipino athletes endure during rigorous training.

It hopes to alleviate and relieve the pain that Diaz went through during the training.

The firm thanked Diaz for the hard work and perseverance to achieve her goal of winning the Olympic gold medal for the Philippines at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics.

Diaz made history when she bested eight other competitors in the women's 55-kilogram weightlifting at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

She likewise achieved two Olympic records, a 217-kilogram in the clean and jerk and a 224-kilogram total.

"Maraming salamat sa iyong pagsisikap at patuloy na pagbangon sa bawat pagsubok at sakit ng katawan na iyong naranasan [Thank you for all your hard work and for continuously rising from every challenge and pain you experience]," it added.

As of July 27, the weightlifting champion from Mindanao has earned over P40 million as cash incentives and reward from the government and public sector for bringing honor and glory to the Philippines, ending the 97-year drought for an Olympic gold medal.

Of the amount, P10 million will be coming from the government as mandated by Republic Act 10699, also known as the "National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives Act."

Another P10 million will be from the MVP Sports Foundation (MVPSF) of telecommunication mogul Manny V. Pangilinan, P10 million from businessman Ramon Ang, P3 million from Deputy Speaker Mikee Romero, P2.5 million from her hometown Zamboanga City as mandated by the law, and P5 million from Phoenix Petroleum plus a lifetime fuel supply.

A cash reward also awaits Diaz from President Rodrigo Duterte as announced by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Tuesday, July 27.

"Milyun-milyon po ang pinangako ng Presidente para doon sa makakamit ng gintong medalya [The President has vowed to grant millions of pesos to anyone who will bag the gold medal]," he said in a press briefing held at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

Roque, though, refused to give the exact amount of cash prize that Diaz will receive from Duterte.

Adding to the long list of rewards are real-estate properties offered by Philippine Olympic Committee Chairman Abraham Tolentino -- a house and lot in Tagaytay, and Megaworld Corporation's P14 million worth condominium unit in Eastwood City.

Diaz can also now fly around the world for free as two of the country's leading airlines -- Philippines Airlines and AirAsia Philippines -- vowed to offer free flights for a lifetime. (With reports from SunStar Davao)
