Over P197,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P197,200 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride were seized in separate drug bust operations of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City on Tuesday afternoon, July 27, 2021.

The operation also led to the arrest of Erwin Toledo, 36, of Barangay 40; Jonel Alquiza, 39, of Purok Kabukiran, Barangay Taculing; and Rene Mijares, 29, of Barangay Vista Alegre.

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of BCPO, said Toledo was arrested by operatives of City Drugs Enforcement Unit (CDEU) after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover in Purok Amalez 1, Barangay 40 around 4:10 p.m.

Police recovered from Toledo's possession seven sachets of shabu weighing 25 grams with an estimated market value of P170,000, the P500 marked money, and coin purse.

Alquiza and Mijares were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 6 on 7th Road, Puentebella Subdivision, Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Taculing around 3:30 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects' possession nine sachets of shabu weighing four grams with an estimated market value of P27,200, the P500 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

Gabana said Toledo and Alquiza were identified as street-level individuals in Bacolod City.

The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 6.

They will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
