Macabebe under state of calamity

THE low-lying municipality of Macabebe has been placed under a state of calamity following the destructive effects caused by incessant rains.

Based on Municipal Council Resolution 224 S. 2019-2022, which declared the state of calamity, monsoon rains have already caused P53,693,195 worth of damage on the agri-fisheries sector.

Some 29,176 families or 116,704 individuals have already been affected by the prolonged flooding, in which 102 families or 399 families have taken temporary refuge on evacuation centers.

The declaration of state of calamity has allowed the local government to utilize its calamity fund to provide assistance to the affected residents.
