Second District senior citizens get cash incentives

THE Provincial Government of Pampanga extended financial support to two senior citizens, aged 99 and 96, in the towns of Guagua and Sta. Rita, as part of the incentive program for seniors.

They are among the recipients of P100,000 under the capitol's One-time Cash Incentive Program, which recognizes and provides incentives to Kapampangan senior citizens aged 95 and above.

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office led the turnover of the assistance with the help of Second District Board Member Fritzie David-Dizon, Guagua Vice Mayor Sajid Khan Eusoof, and Sta. Rita Mayor Ferdinand Salalila.

This program was implemented by virtue of provincial Ordinance 683, series of 2014, or “An Ordinance Enacting the Senior Citizen Code of the Province of Pampanga.”

Initially, only those who have reached 100 years old were entitled to receive the incentive. It can be noted that Pampanga is the pioneer in the distribution of cash incentives to centenarians worth P100,000.

Ordinance 647 or the Senior Citizens Code was then amended by the Provincial Board, lowering the age of the beneficiaries from 100 to 95 years old.
