CCPO awarded as best police office in CV

THE Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) received numerous awards, including best city police office in the entire Central Visayas, during the culmination of Police Community Relations (PCR) Month on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

The Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO 7) organized the awarding ceremony during PCR Month to recognize the efforts of its police personnel to improved their relationship with their host communities.

Aside from the CCPO, Lt. Col. Ardioleto Cabagnot, CCPO’s police community affairs development head, was awarded as best senior police officer while CCPO’s Mobile Force Company led by Maj. Chuck Barandog was chosen as Best City Mobile Force Company.

Col. Josefino Ligan, CCPO director, told reporters that despite the threats of the Covid-19 pandemic, their regular PCR programs remain among their priorities.

Ligan said one of their PCR programs that have made an impact in Cebu City is their regular “Barangayanihan” in which they provide relief assistance to the city’s indigents.

Their Barangayanihan program has had more impact now that a lot of people have been affected by the pandemic, Ligan added.

“We will continue to sustain this program and will disseminate it to our stations. As our PNP Chief said, every policeman is a PCR officer,” Ligan added. (AYB)
