MANDAUE City Councilor Carmelino "Jun" del Mar passed away Monday morning, August 2, 2021.
This was confirmed by Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes in his post on Facebook.
On July 22, the councilor posted on his Facebook page that he and his wife were positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Cortes, in his post, said that Del Mar was a good friend, a colleague, and a public servant.
Del Mar started serving the public as a barangay councilor in Barangay Ibabao-Estancia, then became a three-termer barangay captain before he became a city councilor.
Cortes said the whole of Mandaue City has extended their condolences to the bereaved family.
"Daghan kaayong salamat sa imong serbisyo, Konsehal Jun Del Mar," said Cortes. (KFD)
