Central Luzon entreps among 2021 Productivity Olympics winners

TWO micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) from Central Luzon were among the winners of the 2021 Productivity Olympics.

The Productivity Olympics, held on July 27 in the City of San Fernando, is a national competition that recognizes and benchmarks the best productivity practices of Filipino MSMEs.

Among the winners was Green Thumb Agri from Zambales, which was named as the regional Productivity Olympics-Micro Enterprise Category winner, and Bleue R Enterprises, which was the regional winner under the Small Enterprise Category.

The 2021 Productivity Olympics, with the theme “Bounce Back Better," recognized and benchmarked establishments that have demonstrated resilience and steadfastly overcome difficulties to reach their targets, sustain growth, and contribute to economic recovery, and preserved employment and kept their employees engaged and committed to organizational goals.

Among the criteria for evaluating the awardees of the Productivity Olympics are business continuity, including readiness to continue business amid disruption, effectiveness of strategy or plan on business continuity, employee engagement including the promotion of workers health and safety, workplace collaboration, employee performance and employee preservation.

DTI support

Meanwhile, Department of Trade and Industry-Central Luzon Director Leonila Baluyut congratulated the regional winners of the said competition.

She said both awardees were assisted by DTI through the various programs it is implementing in the seven provinces of the region.

Baluyut said Green Thumb Agri Products has been assisted by the DTI through its One Town One Product (Otop) Next Gen program, Kapatid Mentor Micro Enterprise (KMME) and other capability building programs.

Bleue R Enterprises was also beneficiary of the financial package through Small Business Corporation, she added.

"They really deserve the awards because of their admirable practices, especially during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic," she said.
