THE City Health Office of Cagayan de Oro has noted a continuous rise in the number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, as the city logged 268 infections over the weekend.
The cumulative confirmed cases in the city have reached 12,786.
The City Health Office said of the 268 new cases, 147 were local index cases, 75 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 21 were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 18 were Apors with link, and seven were mortalities.
The active cases in Cagayan de Oro have reached 1,823, of which 563 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and 1,260 were outpatients.
Cagayan de Oro also registered 73 new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 10,407.
The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 556.
Meanwhile, the total number of vaccinated confirmed coronavirus-positive individuals in Cagayan de Oro has reached 1,663, according to the report of city epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya on Monday, August 2.
Retuya said of the 1,663 vaccinees, 1,093 were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine, 353 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca, 122 with Pfizer, 84 were vaccinated with Sputnik V, eight were vaccinated with Janssen, and three were vaccinated with Sinopharm.
Of the 1,093 Covid-positive Sinovac vaccinees, 823 individuals are experiencing mild symptoms, 191 are asymptomatic, 74 have moderate symptoms, and five are severe cases.
Among the 353 AstraZeneca vaccinees, 243 individuals have mild symptoms, 81 are asymptomatic, 27 have moderate symptoms, and two are severe cases.
