Police stations told to respond to any crime incidents

"IT’S the job of the police to respond to any crime incidents in Bacolod City to secure the safety of the Bacolodnons."

This was stressed by Police Major Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), on Monday, August 2, after some BCPO personnel failed to respond on the alleged attempted robbery incident in Barangay Villamonte on August 1.

On Sunday afternoon, August 1, the complainant, whose name is being withheld, was informed by her helper that two unidentified men were seen at the back of their house.

The complainant, along with her husband, immediately drove their car and while on their way home, they saw a police mobile car near the Bacolod Government Center and asked them assistance.

The complainant said, however, that they were very disappointed when the policemen answered them that they cannot response if they do not have a blotter report.

She said they failed to get the names of the police since they were also in a hurry to reach their house and fortunately, their helper was unhurt and no items were missing.

"Once it's an immediate, there is no need for a blotter and the police should response to the area and the blotter will follow," Gabana said.

He said all police stations should always follow the standard operating procedure of the Philippine National Police to avoid similar incident.

He said he is hopeful that all policemen should do their job to maintain the peace and order in Bacolod City.
