THE Provincial Health Office (PHO) temporarily stopped its vaccination operations in Bacolod City effective August 2 to correct a backlog in its program, said Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, provincial health officer.

Tumimbang said they will look into the actual number of vaccines in its storage.

"It seems the numbers will not tally. We don't want for people to line up but they can't be vaccinated as there are no vaccines available at the vaccination center at the Negros First Hostel," he pointed out.

Tumimbang said they will revisit the actual number of vaccines the PHO has on its possession and storage as compared to their list.

He said the vaccination program may resume possibly on Thursday, August 5.

After the auditing is finished, it will be reported to the regional office of the Department of Health, he said.

Tumimbang also clarified that the "minor discrepancy in the numbers" is not affecting the number of vaccines being delivered to different local government units in Negros Occidental.

"We should ensure that all those that were listed at the Capitol vaccination center will be vaccinated as scheduled," he said.
