90-year-old woman contracts Covid-19

A 90-YEAR-OLD woman residing in Barangay San Isidro, Magalang has contracted the virus that causes the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

She is one of the 13 new cases the town's health center recorded as of August 2, 2021.

One of the new cases also include a four-year-old boy from Barangay Santa Cruz and a 17-year-old female from Barangay Santa Cruz.

The local government also reported that eight patients recently recovered from the disease.

There are 88 active cases of Covid-19 in the town as of August 2, according to the Municipal Government.

Some 54 individuals had died from the disease, and 872 out of the 1,001 total patients recovered from Covid-19.

The local government appealed to the public to follow minimum health standards to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The town, through the local police, has enforced the additional restrictions under the new guidelines of Governor Dennis Pineda to prevent the entry of the so-called Delta variant in the municipality.

The town police, headed by Lieutenant Colonel Joel Mariano, enforced curfew, liquor ban, and other measures.

The local police implemented the no entry rule to non-residents without RT-PCR or antigen tests within 48 hours.
