PADAYON Pradyek is a local Bacolod City youth, non-government organization that promotes humanitarian projects and often participates in charities, advocating for animal welfare and Mental Health awareness.

Padayon is a Hiligaynon word that means to continue, a reminder that whatever happens, we can take a rest and continue again with what we have started. "Pahuway kadali kag Padayon liwat!"

The group has a diversified mission to help both animals and humans who are in need. They aspire to alleviate hunger and poverty by extending assistance to both humans and animals through education, outreach programs, and spreading awareness about the importance of Mental Health that should be taken seriously.

The pandemic has caused crucial changes in our lives, millions of people lost their jobs, developing countries were threatened, economy and our financial situations were shaken. How everything works globally and locally has exposed and gave us fear, panic, and uncertainty that has resulted in anxiety and depression. It has become a daily continued existence for the indigents, high increase of unemployment, industries have been rebooted back to base, businesses declared bankruptcy, families buried in debts, and that scene has become the new normal.

A handful of reports piled up, people committing suicide and domestic abuse has worsened, animal cruelty reports such as neglect and abuse have surfaced in our community and stirred the current traditional stigma. Their humanitarian project involves outreach programs, choosing beneficiaries funding them with their medical maintenance and medical expenses.

They assist the typhoon and flood victims to be rescued immediately when the need arises. They have supported animal welfare organizations through their donation drive in social media platforms, donating dog food, cat food, water bowls, and other essentials.

Trouville’s Revel Bars and Dalom Puno Café have been their long-term partners that support their causes together with the other small businesses that have supported them with their advocacy.

One of their most recent activities was providing food supplies for their beneficiary. Nanay and Tatay from Barangay Tubogon, Kabangkalan City the senior couple’s story were shared through the Lakbay Krestala Charity page, were few of their beneficiaries. Every day the couple has been reported that they walk under the heat of the sun asking for donations so that they can eat daily. With their age they shouldn’t be in the streets pleading, ye they collect banana leaves and sell them in their local market so that they can endure the hunger and poverty, their kids have their own families and couldn’t come up with the money for their parents because of the worsened Covid-19 pandemic situation.

Padayon Pradyek also provide educational lectures in the community about Women Empowerment, Karapatang Kababaihan, Family Planning, Parenting Styles, Freedom of Movement, Support for Girls & Women in Crisis, and the Right to vote.

For their future projects, they are planning to distribute food packs for the delivery drivers and book drive to provide precious knowledge to kids locally that couldn’t afford to buy books, especially from the rural areas to increase literacy through continuous learning.

A lot of lives have been affected because of the Covid-19 pandemic but it did not stop the inexperienced group to move forward with their projects.

They currently have eight volunteers that got together for the love of the animals and their passion for helping people, headed by their President Cryswayne Anne Mamigo, Vice President Thea Patrisha Clarito, Secretary Marycris Martir, Finance Officer Faye Joy Genita, Marketing Officer Zendy Labis, Public Information Officer Aliah Baloyo Canezal, and Documentation Officers Mariz Javellana and Micah Sam Ormeo.
